Combine grated Gruyère and cubed Camembert in the fondue pot with a more-than generous splash of white wine. Simmer and add a peeled garlic clove, along with cornflower to thicken it up. Once done, season with a sprinkle of black pepper and serve at in the fondue bowl at the table.

Chinese Fondue: Aromatic and Authentic

Sauté shallots and garlic until nicely brown. Add water, a splash of hot sauce and a mix of chopped herbs then simmer. Serve in the fondue bowl, and let guests cook pieces of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetables at the table.

Chocolate Fondue: Gloriously Moreish

Melt a couple of bars of dark chocolate in a saucepan. Swirl in double cream (or a plant-based cream alternative) and stir slowly until you achieve a nice consistency.
